tables, beds, and foyers. (Think of them as
streamlined chandeliers.)
Characterized
by their straight sides, drum shades come
in many sizes. One of our favorite ideas:
Hang one over each nightstand.

The bottom of the
shade should be
28-36 inches above a tabic.
If the fixture will be used
in a walkway* make sure
the bottom is at least 7 feet
above the floor,
DIFFUSE
To eliminate a view
of a bulb, use a
diffuser— a translucent disk
that fits inside the shade.
Find one online or at lamp-
parts stores.
CREATE
Cover a bargain
shade with fabric
using spray adhesive; attach
trim with glue. Because
they don't have tapered
sides, drum shades handle
repeating patterns easily,

INSTALL
Most pendants can
